The Ultimate Guide: Chain Blocks

When you want to import chain blocks from China, what factors should you consider? You will find the answers in this blog.

Chain Blocks Brand and Color

You need to consider whether you are creating your own OEM brand or selling other brands. For example, Southeast Asian customers often prefer Japanese brands such as NITTO, KAWASAKI, and VITAL. These customers may ask us to use these brands, which sell well locally, but we do not recommend this without proper authorization. More and more customers are now creating their own brands.

Most chain blocks on the market are orange, but you are welcomed to choose your own brand color.

Chain Fall Type Preferences

There are many types of chain falls, and you need to confirm which types are popular in your local market and what customers prefer. For example, CB model is a heavy-duty block favored by Indian customers, while Middle Eastern customers prefer the VT type. European customers often use light chain blocks for DIY home use, such as the HZ and HSC type 1T chain blocks, which are very popular and favoured by large supermarkets like Lidl and ALDI. Most customers sell multiple types of chain blocks, including both light and heavy-duty models.

Chain Hoist Packaging

The standard packaging for chain blocks is to place each one in a kraft paper box, and then place these boxes on a pallet for container loading. Alternatively, they can be packed in wooden crates, or if the order volume is large, colourful cardboard boxes can be designed. Typically, OEM brand customers will design their own branded kraft paper boxes. For smaller quantities, we can use neutral English kraft paper boxes and then attach the customer’s own logo.

Quality of Chain Pulley Blocks

The quality of the components varies depending on the price of each chain pulley model. For example, VD and VT models are heavy-duty blocks, while the HS model is a light-duty block. If you prefer a light model but need high quality, you can communicate this with the factory in advance. For example, the HS type is very affordable and usually comes with G70 lifting chains, no bearings, a single ratchet, and a guide roller. If you want a lower-priced model but with better quality, you can negotiate with the factory to add bearings, upgrade to G80 chains, and so on. In short, the price matches the quality. It is important not to only focus on the price.

Choosing the right chain block for your industrial needs involves careful consideration of several key factors, including brand and color, type preferences, packaging, and component quality. By understanding the preferences of your target market and communicating effectively with manufacturers, you can ensure that you select the best products that meet your specific requirements. Whether you’re looking to create your own OEM brand or import well-known international brands, it’s essential to balance quality with cost to achieve the best value for your investment. Remember, a thorough analysis and clear communication with your suppliers will lead to a successful and profitable import experience.
